amber wall - flow of life (dubai, 2007) The indoor installation 'amberwall' understands itself as contempary unification of media and architecture. The texture, with it's structure, remids of fossil, storage media long before our time. The movie is the basic medium and shows the immediate presence for life. For the choice of actors velvet concentrated on to the 4 most important stages in life of a person (childhood, teenage, adult and senior old) and 4 most important ethnic entities on earth (caucasian(female), negroid (male), asian (female) and arabic (male)). The movie is devided on 26 monitors attached on different levels along the "tree of light" installation. The film was, temporally, segmented to 8 monitor cluster. This enabled the comntinous film-flow along the light tree and simultaneous presentation of different visual contents on different screens at different levels. At large, the texture and the movie playfully transform into a golden-yellow adventure as the offshoots of an analogue & digital sensation. In 180 degree turns, the child becomes the old man, the Caucasian: Asian; emotionality changes from resttrained easiness of to a kind of demetedness. The life comes into movement. The playful oblivion of the water, the glamorous colours of the life. The life stream as energetic, rhytmic flow, an eye impact, an inhale and exhale.
